What is a Red Hat?
The Red Hat Society takes its name from the opening lines of the poem Warning by Jenny Joseph, which starts:
“ When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat that doesn't go and doesn't suit me.”

Love those groups because of the fraternity among the members and the delight in being alive! Whenever I've seen a group I'm impressed with the creativity in dress and hats. Glad you posted this one!!
I have family members who are proud hat-wearing members and it is so FUN!! I am reminded of the time I went up to SnowBird ski resort for Oktoberfest... now those were some WILD red hat society gals!!
Some of my friends belong to the West Sacramento Hotties chapter of the Red Hatters...They really have fun dolling up in their outfits.
Very nice! We have a few groups of Red Hatters here in my city too!
