One of my wife and I's favorite Mexican Restaurants in San Marcos and Buda, Texas is opening in Kyle.
Scratch that... they are now open. (I took this photo week ago when they were "Coming Soon."
I know... why does Kyle need ANOTHER Mexican restaurant? I don't know.. but I'm glad Garcia's is here.
I think I'll wait a week or two before trying this one out... as going to a place that's just opened is always nerve racking... (as evidenced by their review here)

Taraxacum
Sometimes you're taking a photo of something completely different... but then you stop and smell the flowers... and find this.
This dandelion (Taraxacum is the "official name") resides just behind a bank across the street from Lehman High School in East Kyle. I was taking a picture of the Lehman Lobo watertower when I saw this.
I've had a few bad days... so... let's all make a wish and watch the seeds of this dandelion fly away to begin new life.

Stopped into my new local coffee shop.
It's called The Java Cup.
I chatted it up with the owner, Bill Sinor, for a few minutes and snapped a few photos. I learned the coffee blends were designed by the owner himself.. his own special blends. Nice.
This shop is located in the Plum Creek Neighborhood of Kyle. There used to be a coffee shop here which closed about a year and a half ago... was hoping a new place would come in. He's still building it out (sounded like the entire building will eventually be open as a coffee shop/game room/ event area / live music venue) but the coffee shop area is totally ready.

Flea Market
Kyle Flea Market
Old Hwy 81 North
(I-35 Access Road-West)
Kyle, TX 78640
I've not been to this Flea Market for years... but it's open on weekends.
I like the way the building looks, so I wander over there every few months on weekdays to take photos.

Motley Menagerie
This old-school "Cafe" sign sits atop one of the more colorful homes in Kyle.
Well.. it's a home that's been converted into a restaurant, and it's one of the places in Kyle I enjoy going... The Motley Menagerie Tea House (although I've never had tea there). They've got live music on Friday nights, and some fantastic soups and sandwiches.
Oh.. and the music isn't too loud either. I can take my parents there (and that's a big deal).
