Yesterday at the Fire Dept. Grand Opening, The Blood and Tissue Center of Central Texas had the "Blood Mobile" out and was taking donations.

This is "Fireman Mike" as my friend introduced him to my girls yesterday. He gave blood just after I did. I asked if he'd pose for a picture he said OK. Then I told him I was the "Kyle, Daily Photo" guy and he said... "Wait here to get loaded?"

It's always funny/interesting to see what people remember about you or something you've done.

The "Wait here to get loaded" refers to a sign my wife pointed out that I featured back in 2008. Click here to see it.

I'm not sure what they are doing, but there's a lot of construction equipment at the Railroad in Kyle. Looks like they are replacing old boards.

When it snows in Kyle all sorts of weird things happen. This police officer was likely responding to a call.. so he was able to skip the line and jump the track first... siren on of course.

Some friends are about to be new parents...this was the cake for thier baby shower. Very nice cake... very tasty cake. Amazingly it was from Wal Mart.

 

I walked my daughter to school a few weeks ago.. and this was one of the pieces of art that was displayed on the wall at her school, Negley Elementary.

Pastor Dave Dillon of the Kyle United Methodist Church is having surgery today (he would be in the middle or done by now). Last night at church Pastor Barbara asked that the members of the church in attendance lay their hands on him and we prayed over him.

RE-UPDATE: He's out of surgery.He had a complication so please pray for him.

On February 13 there was a special election to fill some seats in Kyle's local government. We had a few city council seats and the mayor's seat to fill. Of all the people who live in Kyle... 1,005 people voted. I was one of them.

Lucy Johnson is now the mayor of Kyle.

According to wikipedia Kyle's 2008 Census showed the city has 26,103 people living here. So... 1/26 of the population cared to vote. *slow clap for Kyle*  

I guess I should be glad a thousand people cared to vote. Think positive Sean.

For the 3rd time in 8.5 year of marriage my wife made me fried okra.

Darn right it's "Kyle Daily Photo" worthy.

I love my wife. She loves me. She makes me fried okra.

 

This was the scene at Railroad BBQ on 2/13/10.

Bruce Curtis Fallgren was on hand playing classic country and.. yes.. love songs. That's Tyler Carlson on stand up bass. He sang a few numbers as well. I didn't get the names (or remember them...sorry) of the other two players. I really enjoy listening to Bruce. 

He also plays well with kiddos...Here's a little video I got of him singing last year "Puff The Magic Dragon"

This Saturday the Kyle United Methodist Church is having a "Reverse" Garage Sale to collect items for two organizations (Burke Center / New Life Children's Center) who give abused children a safe place to live and grow.

These are the Base Bums.... one of the Woman's teams that competed in the 2010 Winter League Tourney this past weekend. In all there were 9 Woman's teams and 10 Co-ed teams participating in Winter 2010. 

I was a member of Pray Ball. We ended up in 6th for Co-ed. We got a trophy and had a great time meeting folks.

I didn't hang around to see who won the tournament... got a bit cold and I went home.

Today is the Kyle Adult Kickball League Winter 2010 Tournament.

I play on Pray Ball... it's the official team of the Kyle United Methodist Church we had a cool cheering section at our first game (we won it 2-0 by the way).

My favorite one is "I heart PB&J! (Pray Ball and Jesus).

Who'd have thunk... 37 years old.
It's been a great ride so far... thanks for being a part of it... be it as a casual viewer of my photos... or a good friend or relative (Hi mom!)

37 years ago... I was a Cesarean section baby. You know what that means... Yep. Everytime I leave the house I leave through the window.

I don't know the story behind this painting.. all I know is it's a painting of an old version of the Kyle United Methodist Church. I'd love to see the steeple back up top the church...
