How Times, They Change
I realized as I was sitting at the stoplight of 1626 & IH-35 that I had taken that photo before... but you'd never recognize it.
On October 30, 2006 I posted a photo of a lonely dirt road that lead to a ranch house.

Well.. that land has transformed. About the only thing you'll see that is the same is the water tower in the background. This is going to be the new Seaton Medical Center... and there's a Lowe's Home Center there... and a Wal-Greens is coming... and more.

Wow... how times have changed. Two and a half years. I can't believe I'm so lucky as to be the person who just happened to come across a "daily photo" thread in 2006 and think... "Hey, that might be cool for Kyle." I've been able to take so many photos of the progress and growth this city has had in the last 3 years. Neat.

Flocked! Welcomed!
As a welcome to our church, some unnamed people in our congregation decided to "flock" the new pastor of the Kyle United Methodist Church in Kyle. Thank God, Pastor Barbara Aziz and her husband, Karim, have great senses of humor and like flamingos.

Pastor Dailey, starting this Sunday, will serve the La Feria United Methodist Church. http://www.laferiafumc.com/
He will be missed.
We are looking forward to welcoming our new pastor, Rev. Barbara Aziz. She comes from the First United Methodist Church in Bishop, TX.

This shot was taken at the beginning of the month at the Kyle Market Days. Market Days happens the first Saturday of each month during the "warmer" months (April-November) smack dab in the middle of Downtown.
Jeff & The Jumptones played some solid Fabulous Thundrebirds-esque blues covers. - www.myspace.com/jeffandthejumptones

This actually wasn't her dog, she was walking one of the dogs from the PAWS shelter (http://pawsshelter.org/) at Plum Creek's Front Porch Days. They had a successful event, as they were able to adopt out 2 dogs during the day.

This is a shot of The Biscuit Brothers from Austin Texas playing the 2008 Front Porch Days music festival. The 2009 festival will be held on May 3... and The Biscuit Brothers will be returning again. Woot. I booked the festival myself. It coincides with Front Porch Days, which is a big party that my neighborhood (Plum Creek in Kyle) has thrown for the last 8 years. There's a washers tournament, 5k run, a petting zoo, inflatable zone, pony rides, a golf tournament merchant booths and yes... music.

What a cute baby!
I was with the kiddos at Kyle's Market Days on 4/4 and I saw a lady with a stroller...not strange at all. Then I peeked inside the stroller. Cute puppy!

The Crowd At the Kyle Easter Egg-stravaganza
The family went out to the Kyle Easter Egg-stravaganza last night. It was a fun time. We missed the actual easter-egg hunt, but got there in time to play some games, hang with H.E. Buddy (H.E.B., The local chain-grocery store's mascot), and see the Easter Bunny. Lots of fun at the Gregg-Clarke Park.

If you like his stuff, you can look him up online at www.bevraydavis.webs.com You can also visit there by clicking on a photo.

He also had some non-cross items.

loquat
At our Wednesday meal at the Kyle United Methodist Church (if you're in the area about 6:00p.m. on Wed... stop on by- http://www.kyleumc.org/) we had a little bowl of loquats from a tree of one of our members. The kiddos seemed to like them.
Here's a shot I took of the loquat tree that used to be the church's backyard.
