USA Rollergirl
I keep forgetting to post the photos from my neighborhood's 4th of July parade. This was the Rollergirl what was in the parade. Pretty cool.

Manna From Heaven
I ate there for lunch Monday. The Carne Guisada was fantastic (it's their Monday lunch special).
I should rearrange the letters to read "ATE"
:)
Happy Friday!

Around the corner from the house I like. This one is also in the Blanco Vista Subdivision in Kyle.

Don't Discard A Cigarette...
Here's the results of a little fire (thank God for Kyle Volunteer Fire Department) that happened a week or so ago between the highway (I-35) and the access road. THIS is what happens when an idiot throws a cigarette butt our the window when there's a big big big dry spell.

I like this house.
This is a home in the Blanco Vista Subdivision in Kyle. It's a new subdivision... in South Kyle... there's a brand-new overpass that pretty much just drives to these homes...
This is the only home I saw (there's a few dozen built) that I really liked the look of.... and it's sold.
Not that I'm looking to move from my place... My neighborhood rocks. I'll post a few shots from the neighborhood 4th of July parade in the next few days.

Pizza Classics is OPEN!
I've still not been back to Pizza Classics to eat, but I'm planning on checking out the new place soon. If it's as good as the old location (which is should be.. same owners/recipe/sign... just different location) it will be fantastic.

The Lawyers Place...
Funny... last time I really looked at this place it was a mattress place. Looks like lawyers took it over. Kind of glad I don't need these folks' service... but pretty happy they're in town just in case.
Looks like the names on the sign are Kelly Higgins (Criminal Defense) and Megan D. Rogers (Attorney At Law).

Old building in Kyle (off old Hwy 81)
Happy Birthday America!
This is an old building...
Don't know anything about this... just that it's old and made for a good photo.

Piscis Fajitas for One
Just to keep 'em all together... this was my fajita plate. It was pretty darned good. The tortillas weren't the "out of the bag store bought" variety either.
Yes... we'll be back to Piscis.
Yes... we'll be back to Piscis.

Here's what Piscis looks like from the outside. Tomorrow I'll post the fajita plate I ordered. Yum.
In 2006 I took a photo of the "old" restaurant that was here, Fonzie'z. It used to be the hub of the city, where folks would have their morning coffee and make their plans for the day (or plans for the future of the city). Anyhow... here's the photo from then: (http://kyledailyphoto.blogspot.com/2006/08/two-for-tuesday-for-first-time-since-i.html)

Does this look good to you? It looked amazing to me.
This is from Piscis Seafood restaurant (the old Fonziez). We finally tried it the other day.
My wife ordered the shrimp-stuffed empanada (pictured). I never saw a seafood stuffed empanada... but it was great...

What's in a name?
I remember back in college when I used to wash my clothes in a laundromat. I sure don't miss those days.
Here's one of Kyle's laundromats... it's fancy... a washateria!

There are many different varities of the Crepe Myrtle. I really digg this tree, it smells amazing and it looks fantastic.
It'd have to be my favorite tree/bush/flower combo ever!
Here's more information on the Crepe Myrtle from a 2005 San Antonio Express News article:

This is the Spencer Thomas Band (http://www.myspace.com/spencer0thomas) playing the Lucky Cup Coffee Shop in Kyle on Friday. It was a fun night.
If you look close at the right... you'll see the mannequin (provided by Lynn Wilkerson of Great Big Signs [http://www.seanclaes.com/GreatBigSigns.html]) that sparked a slightly odd conversation with my 4 year old... as to what it was, and why someone would want a "great big doll to dress up."
Like I said.. it was a fun night.

Kyle United Methodist New Life Center - #13 in the series.
Those who have been here a while know I've been kind of documenting the construction of the Kyle United Methodist Church's New Life Center. This is photo is the 14th in the series. It's hard to believe it's been 3 months since my last update. See number 12 in the series by following this link.
There's been some hiccups in the building plans... but things are getting back on track.. the fence is complete and we've got the big windows in now. Cool. Here's the new update...

Oh.. and here it is in relation to the church.

Fox's Pizza Den
I ate at Fox's Pizza Den in Kyle this past Friday.
Really good food... Amazingly friendly and nice staff.
They gave each of my kiddos free take-home cups... spent time explaining the menu to us (they've got pizza, lasagna, hoagies, stromboli, and something they call a wedgie.
Get a wedgie.
That's funny.
Actually my daughter's favorite thing is the breadsticks. They're like a football-shaped pizza cut into sticks... yum.

Digging a Water Feature
Near the Hays Performing Arts Center at the corner of 1626 and Kohlers Crossing, this will be a large-seized water feature. There's a good chance (crossing my fingers) that the Kyle Library may be moving to this area. It's inside the Plum Creek Neighborhood...my neighborhood.

I've always thought this should say "Drive Slow" because it's not nice to label neighborhood children.
I also think THIS sigh should say "SLOW Fire Hydrant"

Neatly tucked on the Mantel with care...
Again.. the model home version of things on the mantel above the fireplace.
I don't have a fireplace... but my shelves look like stacks of books/papers/knick-nacks... not neat artwork-looking stuff.
Oh.. sometimes I wished I lived in a model home. Such class.. such beauty.
Of course... the food is plastic.
