I've not been able to get good shots of this construction, but it looks like Kyle will soon get a second way to get out to I-35 that doesn't involve crossing much-used train tracks. This is good news for folks south who need EMS services.

Railroad BBQ Side Building
This is the building next to Railroad BBQ. A fellow Flickr member and ex-Kyle resident said that RR BBQ used to be a place to buy feed... so this may have been the feed store. Someday I'll get to know the history of some of these buildings... but for now, I'm just enjoying taking pictures.

Watertower
Yet another of Kyle, Texas' water towers.
I think I've taken photos of about 8 thus far... and I think there are more.
For a small town, we've got water towers covered!

More cows..
It's Sunday... this could be a cow-gregation. Get it? It's like congregation but with cows... I know.. it's not as funny if I need to explain it.

Lamp Post
A lamppost inside the Hometown Kyle neighborhood.
Kind of a neat photo...if I do say so myself.. and I just did.

Future home... Pizza Classics
This is the future home of Pizza Classics. There's a sign on the window that says they are still waiting on building permits... then it'll get into action. I miss their buffets... open soon Pizza Classics!

If you can believe it... this cow is on a ranch that is about a stones throw from a neighborhood AND a middle school. Neat.

Why Pay For Billboards...
...when you can prop up a water-tanker truck.
There's some construction going on down 'round here. This is on the south-bound I-35 access road near the HEB Plus.
Happy Friday.

El Suave Panadaria
I haven't been in this restaurant/store since it was a funky little coffee shop... about 2 years ago. It's less than a block off the main square in town.
El Suave... reminds me of that song by Gerardo from about 10 years ago.... "Rico..... Suave"

Railroad BBQ
I think they sell vegetarian faire here.
Just kidding... But in all reality, I saw a sign last week outside the restaurant that said "Try Our New BBQ Sauce"
I'm intrigued.

Foundation!
Did you know THIS is how a foundation is poured? I always wondered what those huge machines with semi-dirty names on them did. Neat.

Christmas Past...
As of last Saturday these were still up around town. I think they look kind of cool... I vote they stay up year round.

HAY!
I have never been so happy to have a windshield. This roundbale was throwing hay at me for a mile on FM150 in east Kyle. You can see the hay in the air in this shot.

This window is on a building just north of the downtown area on the I-35 south Access Road. I didn't get the name of the shop... just thought it was an interesting look.

This is one of the four Chirstmas Tree recycling points the the City of Kyle has set up. This one is at Waterleaf Park. Grab your dead tree and throw it here.... Much like a tip-jar at the bar... I think they put one in the fence to show what should be there.
Hopefully it'll fill up. I know the Plum Creek neighborhood also has a drop off point.. and they are going to dump the trees in the lake to create fish habitat.
Anyhow... here's a link to the places The City of Kyle has set up.. in case you're looking for a place to dump the tree:

Sorry.. I've been a little busy. Today I went out and took a few more photos... so I'll have something to post. It's been crazy lately. THis is one that I took a few weeks ago... I'm not sure what these two buckets were doing.. but it was a little funny that they are juxtaposed across the street from each other and split by an overpass.
This is just west of IH-35 and the HEB PLUS!

Polar Bear Mar
This is my other Daughter Marlee... with her feet in the 48-degree water that my wife and I jumped in on New Years. I swear if we let her this 3 1/2 year old would have jumped in herself. She was totally into it.
I was going to post a photo of the event from another photographer - Gregory Cooper who has a Flickr page called "phive" but I can't post photos from his profile... so.. please go check his photography out. He's got some great stuff... including a photo of me and Mar Mar...

Oh Deer... It's 2008!
Yes... just another opportunity to show off one of my daughters... This "flying deer" is my 8-month-old Harper... who waited patiently as her parents did the Kyle Polar Bear Swim this afternoon. That water was 48 degrees of COLD people...
