Kickball

Friday Night Lights
On Friday nights I play kickball with a team called PRAY BALL as part of the Kyle Parks and Recreation Co-Ed kickball league. We play at Gregg Clarke Park in Kyle, Texas... and have a GREAT time. If you're ever in Kyle on a Friday night between 7-10p... stop in.... and see grown men and women play a silly little kids game.

This is Lake Kyle. Last year the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department moved their headquarters to the land around this.

There's a BIG party tonight at the lake... includes night fishing, washers & horseshoes, a fun run, games for kiddos, some great music, and more. It's the FULL MOON JUBILEE.

Check out all the stuff going on:

Kyle Parks and Rec Family Fun Ride

Today the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department had a Bicycle Rodeo and Family Fun Ride. We had a great time. It's fantastic to live in a town that has so much to do.

My kickball team, PRAY BALL, took 5th place in the "B" league in the Kyle Parks and Recreation tournament a week ago. We had a lot of fun... and prayed with every team we played. It's a mission and a blessing to be able to exercise and be an example of Christians in the world.

...and it's a lot of fun. We start the next season on March 2, 2012... woot!

FYI.. this is our unofficial move... it's called the "CACAW!" and it works best if you actually say CACAW when doing it.

I don't know if you know this about me or not, but I'm the coach of my church's kickball team.

The Kyle United Methodist Church Co-Ed Kickball team, PRAY BALL, has been playing in the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department's Adult Kickball League for the last 6 seasons. We've had some amazing times being able to hang out with some great people and praise God while playing a kids game.

This is our logo:

The Spring 2011 season is starting this Friday. PRAY BALL has a new team (we change out about 1/2 of our members each season) and a game at 9:30p. Hope you can join us... if not this Friday then maybe one of the other season games.

Congratulations to Texas Swag

Saturday was the Kyle Parks and Recreations Winter 2011 Adult Kickball Tournament. My team, PRAY BALL received 7th place. I didn't make it to the final game, but I did get to watch the team who ended up winning, TEXAS SWAG, play earlier in the day. They did not lose any games in the tournament.. and ended up having to beat The Intimidaors 2 times in order to take the championship.

Congrats Texas Swag. We'll see you in 2 weeks for the Spring 2011 Season.

The "dancing lights" at the Kyle Pool

For the last three years, the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department has decorated Kyle with lights that move and groove to music. They call it Lights Spectacular. I know the photo doesn't do much justice, but below is a video I took.

If you live in Kyle (or are passing through), come by the Kyle Pool at Gregg-Clarke Park in the next few nights (until 12.29.10). Tune your car radio to 100.1FM and enjoy the show. It really is neat.

This is a post and a reminder. For all those who are interested in playing kickball in Kyle, the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department's Adult Kickball League is holding the coaches meeting today at 6:30p. For those teams joining the Winter 2011 season all forms and fees must be turned in by 5p today. The Kyle United Methodist Church team, PRAY BALL, will be participating for the 5th season in a row. I will be coaching this time. We're really looking forward to it.

Below you will see a scene from last years (February 2010) Winter 2010 finals. Below that is the debut of the PRAY BALL logo which will adorn our shirts this season. Woo-Hoo!

The next season of Kyle PARD Adult Kickball is coming!
