My kickball team, PRAY BALL, took 5th place in the "B" league in the Kyle Parks and Recreation tournament a week ago. We had a lot of fun... and prayed with every team we played. It's a mission and a blessing to be able to exercise and be an example of Christians in the world.

...and it's a lot of fun. We start the next season on March 2, 2012... woot!

FYI.. this is our unofficial move... it's called the "CACAW!" and it works best if you actually say CACAW when doing it.

Oops... I've not posted in a few.
Well.. let me wrap up the Kickball Tournament in a few photos. I've got an album on Flickr with all the shots I took... if you'd like to see: http://www.flickr.com/photos/seanclaes/sets/72157627476827132/

First, my team, PRAY BALL, ended up in 10th place (out of 10 teams)... but they don't assign actual places on the trophies until 3rd... so I'm saying we got 4th.

Here's me and our *ahem* 4th place trophy.

We may have come in 10th... But they don't assign places until 3rd... So I say we got 4th.

This one is Issac from Hardcore Stompers kicking a beautiful punt down the 1st base line that netted him a single and an RBI.
Hardcore Stompers vs Rubber Busters. Kick was a single w/ RBI

Here's the Party Ballers vs. Shut Em Up. I believe the Party Ballers ended up in 5th place for the tournament and Shut Em Up won it for the "Red" division.
Got Balls vs Shut Em Up. Top bracket.

For the ladies... I got to watch the finals...
Here's Team Dirty kicking against Kiss My Swag. They had to play 2 final games... as it's a double elimination tourney... and Team Dirty took the first game, but in the end Kiss My Swag won... and AMAZING couple of games.
Ok... NOW it's TEAM DIRTY vs KISS MY SWAG. finals. Last game was vs Drunk Again.

And it's all for bragging rights... and one of these:
I'd like one of the big ones.

I don't know if you know this about me or not, but I'm the coach of my church's kickball team.

The Kyle United Methodist Church Co-Ed Kickball team, PRAY BALL, has been playing in the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department's Adult Kickball League for the last 6 seasons. We've had some amazing times being able to hang out with some great people and praise God while playing a kids game.

This is our logo:

Congratulations to Texas Swag

Saturday was the Kyle Parks and Recreations Winter 2011 Adult Kickball Tournament. My team, PRAY BALL received 7th place. I didn't make it to the final game, but I did get to watch the team who ended up winning, TEXAS SWAG, play earlier in the day. They did not lose any games in the tournament.. and ended up having to beat The Intimidaors 2 times in order to take the championship.

Congrats Texas Swag. We'll see you in 2 weeks for the Spring 2011 Season.

This is a post and a reminder. For those teams joining the Winter 2011 season all forms and fees must be turned in by 5p today. The Kyle United Methodist Church team, PRAY BALL, will be participating for the 5th season in a row. I will be coaching this time. We're really looking forward to it.

Just in case you're out of the loop... Kyle Texas has become the home of an AWESOME adult kickball league that is organized by the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department. This year there were 8 female teams and 16 Co-Ed teams. This past Saturday was the Co-Ed Tournament. The tourney started at 9:00a.m. and ended just about 10:45pm. This photo is of the first place winners, THE INTIMIDATORS. If they look tired.. it's probably because they had to play their first (of 5 games I believe) game at 9:00a.m.

I play on a team formed through my church (the Kyle United Methodist Church) called PRAY BALL. We took 11th place.. and it was a place well earned.

I'm looking forward to coaching next season for Pray Ball.. and to playing The Intimidators. They are our kickball BFFs. A great group of folks who know sportsmanship and healthy competition...

If interested here's the rest of the tourney photos I took:

If you're in Kyle... and you want to play kickball, the next season will start in November. Check here for details - http://www.cityofkyle.com/parks/adultkickballleague.php

The team I play on, Pray Ball, ended upi taking 3rd place... which is the best we've done thus far. We've played 3 "seasons." The Summer league is coming up... and we're going to be playing again.

In the woman's league, the team that took top honors was Showtime.

This weekend is the Tournament.
So... if you head out to Gregg-Clarke Park this Saturday and Sunday May 15-16.. you'll see a bunch of great people hanging out and watching some great kickball. It's really a neat community.

Oh.. and if you want to play next season... visit http://www.cityofkyle.com/parks/NextSeason.php

I play on Pray Ball... it's the official team of the Kyle United Methodist Church we had a cool cheering section at our first game (we won it 2-0 by the way).

My favorite one is "I heart PB&J! (Pray Ball and Jesus).

PRAY BALL!

PRAY BALL is the kickball team the Kyle United Methodist Church formed to play in the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department's Adult Kickball League. Here's Pray Ball's Joshua Steubing kicking a home run against a team called "Got Balls."

It's a lot of fun... a bunch of adults playing a kids game. We decided to form the team as both a way to exercise and get to see other church members outside of the church... and as a way to get out in the public and share the Word. We begin and end all games in prayer and invite the team we play to join us. It's pretty fantastic.
