So.. yesterday I went to an awards assembly at my daughters school and the front office lady asked me what I was there for (we know each other) and I said, I'm here to take over the world... so my nametag reflected it. :)

Negley's 2nd Annual Expo

Back in December Negley Elementary School in Kyle held their 2nd Annual Expo.
I was able to volunteer w/ a group of 5th graders... I think this was the Hays County Extension Office/ AgriLife space where the kids were taught about the "must haves" when trying to survive.
It was a neat day for the kiddos.

Truth in Advertising - Mobile Home

I was driving around Kyle the other day and I came across this advertisement. Now.. I'm sure the people who made the sign meant that the availability of this deal wouldn't be around for a long time... but the way I read it was... this New Mobile Home wouldn't be a home for a long time... as in... you know... this thing isn't going to last a very long time before it's time to find another place to live.

Yes.. I have an odd way of looking at the world.. and this made me giggle. 

All apologies to the owners of this mobile home... I'm sure it's lovely.

Helping Lone Star Kettle Corn paint & get their storefront ready

Last Saturday, the kids and I spent a few hours helping Lone Star Kettle Corn paint their new storefront... well.. I painted while the kiddos played and helped clean the back lot. Lots of work was done and lots of fun was had... and now lots of kettle corn has been eaten. 

They will be open soon at 108 S Front in Kyle.

So, we impulse painted our kitchen... yeah.. didn't decided to paint until about 11a and then put a call out on Facebook inviting anyone who wanted to join us to paint... well.. three fantastic friends came around and we painted the entire kitchen in 7 hours. Rock on. Thanks Layne, Kevin and Chelsea...

The Kyle Chamber of Commerce held a Holiday Social, Open House and Ugly Sweater party on December 18 at their new office... which is an older home in Kyle at 401 W. Center Street. One of my favorite Mexican Food places in Kyle used to be Los Vega... they closed last year after changing owners a few times and thus changing the recipes...and my enjoyment of the food..... well.. the space where Los Vega used to occupy opened back up a few months ago as "El Roble." I finally stopped in for breakfast and had their migas.

There was an epic Movember Party (hosted by Concerts for a Cause) on Movember 22 at Milt's Pit BBQ. Folks braved the nasty rainy weather to support Men's health and rock out to two great bands (I'll post those shots tomorrow and Tuesday). This is some of the 26 members of The Simply Charming Mo's of Kyle, Texas who raised, over the course of the month, $1,475 for Movember.

That's just a slight stretch.... really.

This morning my car wouldn't start, I went from a dead battery to having to replace the connectors (they were corroded) to them finding a small gas leak in the car (thank goodness it was just a hose)... Technically... Hill Top Automotive saved my life. If my car had started this morning...I could have been a fireball shooting down the toll road.

Oh.. I got a nifty  free hat too. ;)

I wrote a bad review on the Amazon site. I also blogged my experience when I tried to deal with them BEFORE writing the review.

ANYHOW... this is me recording the sermon at the Kyle United Methodist Church this past Sunday. I do it every Sunday that I'm there and upload it to the church YouTube account.

Friday Night Lights - Hays High School

It was a fun game to watch.My kids usually make it to about half-time before we have to leave.. which is cool.. since we come mostly to watch our neighbor in the band.
