Ah.. the future's gonna be fun with this one.

The good news is I got this great shot.
The bad news is I left my camera bag on the rocks just to the right of this photo. I had my camera with me though... just lost about 4 memory cards and some rechargeable batteries.

Hitter's Bar & Grill (Kyle, Texas)
Last Saturday I took the girls out (by girls I mean my 7 and 4 year old) to lunch for doing a great job helping clean the house.
We went to a local restaurant by the name of Hitter's Bar & Grill. As you probably know.. "Mom & Pop" restaurants are either excellent or horrible. I have to say, Hitter's was ON TARGET. Really, really good burger and the crispy fries just like I like 'em. This is the bacon cheeseburger.
We'll be back.
I asked my daughter if she'd rather have Hitter's or McDonalds next time... she said Hitter's. Now THAT says something.

Kyle Quiters Raffle
The 2011 Quilt is up for raffle!
http://kylequilters.com/
It only takes 1 ticket to win... I should know. I bought 1 ticket about 4 years ago and I've got a beautiful quilt at my home because of it.
I caught this shot last Saturday at the Kyle Market Days on the Square... where it will be on display and raffle tickets will be sold every month...until it's drawing time.

Expanding Mermaid
So... my little girls got one of those things that you put in water and they grow "up to 20x in size"
Here it is... "20x it's size!"
We've let it dry out and made it expand 2-3 times. Neat.

LOVE IT!
This was a "poster" my daughter (age 7) and her friends made in order to promote a play they put on. They decided to do Cinderella.
I was so proud on many levels.
They:
1. Decided themselves that they wanted to put on a play.
2. Got permission from the daycare.
3. Planned, cast, directed, and came up with their own lines... all by themselves.
4. Made PROMO!
5. Had a lot of the other kids in the daycare sitting there and watching. They had a CROWD!
Amazing.

This is Army Command Sgt. Maj. Clifford Van Doren. This past Sunday in church (Kyle United Methodist Church) he was presented a medal for his service to our country. He served on D-Day, which happened on June 6, 1944.
He's also a very cool man to chat with.
Thank you Mr. Van Doren...

In this shot, Chamber director Ray Hernandez is shaking the grass skirt with the all around awesome David Salazar (who, besides being awesome, is a former city council member).
Great times.... My daughters and I attended and took photos. Follow this link to see the others - Sean's Flickr Account.
Every month BASH is hosted in a different place. This month it was hosted by Legend Oaks Healthcare & Rehabilitation, which is located in my neighborhood of Plum Creek in Kyle. Wonderful place. I know a few people who are residents (and met a few last night). It really looks like the people who work there, on a whole, are very attentive and friendly to the residents. I know.... that should be a given, but those who have looked into assisted living/nursing homes.... know this isn't the case a lot of the times.

Water Slide Fun
For Memorial Day, we had a little get together for lunch.. that ended with a fun water-slide / water balloon fight at the neighbor's house.
Today we had a lot of fun. We know that we're able to do so because people fought for our freedom. And, some people gave all... and we remember them always... but today most of all.

Beef Fajita Plate at Garcia's In Kyle, Texas
Garcia's Restaurant has always been a favorite to visit in San Marcos and Buda, Texas. They recently opened in Kyle.
The family and I went to dinner there last night. It was pretty good, but the best thing about it was the salsa.

1st place Kyle PARD Kickball - Texas Swag
I was in a kickball tournament this past weekend. My team, PRAY BALL came in 12th of 13 teams. It was A LOT OF FUN.
This is Texas Swag. They took 1st. Undefeated. Pretty impressive with the folks who played this Sprint 2011 season for the Kyle, Texas Parks and Recreation Department's Adult Kickball League.
SO glad this league was created. It's a lot of fun and great exercise. If you told me 2 years ago I'd be playing kickball at 38 years of age, I'd have laughed at you.
Now I'm PRAY BALL's coach and I've played 6 seasons. Wow.

Bright like a steadfast star it smiles
Aboon the battle's burning files;
The mirkest cloud, the darkest night,
Shall ne'er make dim that beauteous light:
And the best blood that warms my vein
Shall flow ere it shall catch a stain.
Far has it shone on fields of fame,
From matchless Bruce till dauntless Graeme,
From swarthy Spain to Siber's snows;
The thistle's grown aboon the rose.

My church, the Kyle United Methodist Church will again be sponsoring the Washer's Tournament.
If you are in the area and want to play washers.... come on out.
Here's the information - http://frontporchdays.com/id16.html
Sign up ahead of time... or show up and sign up in person.
The first 24 teams signed up will play.
This year the proceeds will go towards 2 different but equally great charities.
1. Hope & Love 4 Kids - They help children in the Kyle community by providing basic necessities, comforting them in their time of need and uplifting them through service and outreach.
and
2. Soles4Souls - a shoe charity that collects gently worn shoes and monies to provide shoes to those in need. The KUMC has collected over 200 pairs of gently worn shoes... and the proceeds from the washer's tournament will help defray the cost of shipping the shoes.
