Fellowship Hall #3
If it didn't rain just after this photo was taken (yesterday) and today there would be concrete over this stuff right now. Look for a dramatic difference in the next shot!
Not like there isn't a dramatic difference since #2 (click on photo to go there.)
This is the Kyle, United Methodist Church's new Fellowship Hall... in the making.

Hmmm... I wonder
I wonder when we should sign up for soccer?
I just wish there was some kind of reminder.
Maybe a website... Hmmm.

Can You Hear Me Now?
This is where cell phone signals come from.
It's funny that something that helps with "wireless" communication has so many wires holding it in place.

Looks Like You Made It
I came across this truck.. towing a trailer that read "Anchorage to Austin." You're less than 20 miles away!

I swear I've got a good excuse
I know.. it's been a lot of photos that aren't typically "Kyle, Texas Daily Photo" material lately... I have a valid excuse... and she just turned 4 months old.

JAM!
This was the scene recently when Spencer Thomas played a live show at Kyle's Lucky Cup Coffee House. There's going to be another live show next Friday there... with Marc Utter and the Blackland. Good times.

Cleaning Up
Just in case you were wondering, this is what a car wash looks like from the inside... to a 2 year old.

Fellowship Hall #2
The new fellowship hall at the Kyle United Methodist Church is under construction. If you click the photo, you can go back to the photo I took soon after the big ground-breaking announcement... there was a beautiful cross placed on the area that is now seen as the dirt base. The "solid ground" if you will. This angle is from the parking lot, not from the street facing the side of the church... My next shot will likely be from the same angle as the first...

And they call her... Mar the Knife...
On National Night Out my little girl tried a slip n' slide for the first time. This one had a shark head at the end. It was fun for the 30 minutes before it broke... oh well.
Oh, the shark, babe, has such teeth, dear
And it shows them pearly white
Just a jackknife has old MacHeath, babe
And he keeps it … ah … out of sight.
Ya know when that shark bites, with his teeth, babe

Aloha
Here's the group from NNO. I leid a police officer (at right back at the fence) and a fireman (left... next to tiki torch). Yes... I type it here because I wasn't in the right company to say it out loud at the party.... but I knew what I was doing.
Good times were has by all.

National Night Out was Tuesday
I've been pretty busy... but I've got some great shots from Kyle's National Night Out to share.
Well... at least from the party that we threw.
Here's our neighbor Vincent filling out a fireman's hat.

I've been immortalized! Well.. my photos have anyhow. Back in February, a representative from Wells Fargo bank messaged me that they were opening a store in Kyle and wondered if I could take some photos of landmarks... I ended up taking about 5-6 shots and sending them off.... never heard back... but I saw the bank was open and decided to see if they ever used my pictures.
I was surprised and excited to see they had.
This is my name on the "key" to the mural. The photo next to it is mine... you can see that photo on here back in February.
Neat.
I'll post the mural itself tomorrow.

Technically... not Kyle
So, technically this isn't Kyle, Texas... it's country band The Derailers playing an in-store at Austin's Waterloo Records on Tuesday. They released their Under The Influence of Buck tribute CD to Buck Owens. Why is it posted here? Well... the top left of the photo is bassist Ed Adkins.... resident of Kyle, Texas.
Close enough?
It'll have to be.
If you click the photo you can see my other photos of the in-store (and all my live music photos from the last year or so)
