Hope & Love 4 Kids at Chick-Fil-A

Kyle non-profit Hope & Love 4 Kids has a kick-off for their annual backpack drive last Friday at Chick Fil A in Kyle.

They received donations of 43 school-supply-filled backpacks... AWESOME.

That was the kick-off... they are collecting until August 17. Check their website to see what items they are seeking. They are trying to supply 400+ kids with school supplies in the Kyle area. - http://www.hopeandlove4kids.org/

Los Cuervos Flauteria

Last Sunday, we went to Los Cuervos Flauteria. It's a new restaurant in Kyle.

The word "Cuervo" is spanish for black bird like Raven or Crow..FYI.

The owner chatted me up while making my flauta, which is a fried tortilla wrapped around meat..in this case it was flank steak. It was interesting... he discovered this flauta while visitng Mexico (through El Paso I believe). He liked it so much that he decided to create a restaurant around it.

Now.. as of 7/26/12 there is ONE item on the menu. This Flauta. You buy them in multiples (4+) and they come with these two salsas, which are VERY flavorful and not spicy. He also has a spicy sauce you can add, that is AWESOME.

We got ours "to-go" so he made me this one in order to show me the proper way to "dress" the flautas.

I'll be back...

May 20th was Front Porch Days in the Plum Creek Neighborhood of Kyle, Texas. I was running around and caught a few shots (I run the music fest, so I got a lot of musicians).. while running around I caught the Texas Skate team doing tricks. Neat.

Kyle Chamber BASH - This Thursday

The first Thursday of every month is the Kyle Chamber Ambassador's BASH. Last month (May) it had a Cinco de Mayo theme and was held at Chuck Nash Auto Group.

This month it's happening on June 7 @ Mather Park in the Plum Creek Neighborhood.

My daughter got a fake mustache at the doctors office when she went in the other day. It almost matches my neighbors REAL one... so his wife put it on... and I happened to have my camera. So... I share. Happy Friday All!

PRAY BALL - 7th Place WINNERS

This is PRAY BALL. It's the kickball team for the Kyle United Methodist Church in Kyle, Texas. We play in the Kyle Parks and Recreation co-ed kickball league. Last weekend we competed in the season end tournament and got 7th place in the "B" league.

It was awesome fun and great fellowship with some amazing people.

This was the last shot I got before my batteries died in my camera. I like it a lot... but the next shot would have been about 10 seconds later when the vulture left the top of this telephone pole... took flight and displayed his enormous wingspan.

This is down at the dead-end of Center Street in Kyle, Texas (the dead-end that doesn't end at the highway)

Hays Surgery Center

I took a little scenic drive down Center Street... I followed it West of FM 150 for about a mile. It's the road that you probably wouldn't take unless you knew someone back there.... or were looking for photo ops. Beautiful country back there. I saw this along the way.
